The rapid boom of the beauty industry is driven by a number of factors including increased consumer interest in self-care, natural beauty, and anti-aging products.
As the industry expands and new trends are coming forward, IA needs change with
the times. IA is not only digital beauty platform, but also a
community. A place to create conversations and interactive resource for our community.
Meet India
Founded by India Hester with the intention to foster and build community in the beauty space. India has always been obsessed with makeup and skincare. It’s literally in her DNA.
After graduating from Spelman College, she relocated to the Midwest and worked in product management. After about two years of working in this role, she realized she wanted to explore a career in marketing. India applied to a few marketing roles and was given feedback that she needed digital marketing experience to land the job she wanted. She wasn't sure how she would be able to build her digital marketing skills, and then it dawned on her that she should create a beauty blog. She could incorporate my love for makeup and skincare with technology and gain digital marketing experience.
India Approved is now an online platform dedicated to providing honest reviews of beauty products and exploring the intersectionality between beauty and technology.
